Globally, it was ranked 23rd in the 2018 QS World University Rankings, 34th in the 2017 CWTS Leiden Ranking, 36th in the 2016/17 THE World University Rankings, and 46th in the 2017 ARWU; nationally it was ranked 21st in the 2018 Complete University Guide, 29th in the 2017 Times/Sunday Times University Guide, and 39th in the 2018 Guardian University Guide.
