Things To Do After NYSC Relocation
Have you applied for NYSC relocation to a new place and it has been approved? If yes, then there are things you must do immediately after your application for relocation has been approved. For the benefit of those that do not know what NYSC relocation means, I will enlighten you or the meaning of NYSC relocation and what it entails.
What is NYSC Relocation?
NYSC relocation is the process of transferring a corps member from one state to another for his or her service on the basis of security, Marital or health reasons. In other words, NYSC relocation simply means Redeployment.
For your NYSC relocation application to be successful, you need to have concrete reasons for wanting to redeploy just like the ones present above, for your application to be approved.
Requirements for Applying for NYSC relocation
You can apply for relocation or Redeployment while in camp or online.
To apply for relocation while still in camp, you need to take note of the following requirements ;
• Application Letter
• Questionnaire stating particulars and reason for redeploying
• Evidence for a reason to redeploy (e.g Marriage Certificate or Health Certificate)
For an online application you need to do the following ;
• Visit the NYSC portal
• Sign in with your email and password; same as the ones you earlier used in registering on the portal.
• Click on “Relocation”
• Fill in your details appropriately into the fields provided.
• Wait for notification either through SMS or email on your application status
• If your application is approved, you’ll be notified via SMS or email.
What to do after relocation
Immediately after receiving notification that your relocation was successful, the next thing to do is to Visit the new place you have been redeployed to and submit your redeployment letter, from there, they will assign you to your place of primary assignment or ask you to find one for yourself.
How long does it take for the relocation?
Gone are the days when people Corpers used to wait for about three months to have their application for redeployment approved. The NYSC board have now come up with an online application which takes up to 2 weeks for the application to be approved instead of the initial three months.
You can conveniently apply even after the camp has closed, and you will still get your approval.
Can NYSC relocation be done twice?
The NYSC relocation can only be done once throughout the entire service year.
How to Check NYSC Relocation/Redeployment
To check your redeployment status simply visit the NYSC portal, sign in to your profile, click on Relocation, after which you fill in the necessary information then submit.
