It is important for a student who wants to write the 2021 SSCE English exam to know how examiner actually grades their paper/script. I have discovered that the best place one can actually the right answer to this, is your English teacher, or any other subject as it may apply.

2021 WAEC English Marking Guide
WAEC English comprises of 3 sections, namely, Paper 1, Paper 2 and Paper 3
The candidate is required to answer all in each section.
Paper 1 & 2 will be combined together, so you are expected to answer them and submit them together.
Paper 1 will consist of 8 Objective questions, all of which must e answered within the stipulated time of 1 hour, as this section will carry 80 marks.
Paper 2 will consist of 5 essays and passages (comprehension & summary)
Candidates will be tested on how to write a good essay which you are expected to choose just one out of the variety of topics that will be given.
The candidate will be required to answer all questions in the comprehension and summary part.
Questions in this section will last for 2 hours and will carry 100 marks
Paper 3 will have 40 OBJ questions testing the Only Oral and listening ability of the candidates. This section takes 60 marks and only 45 minutes will be given to answer them except otherwise stated.
2021 WAEC Grading System
- From 0 to 39 is F9 = Fail
- From 40 to 44 is E8= Pass
- From 45 to 49 is D7= Pass
- From 50 to 54 is C6= Credit
- From 55 to 59 is C5= Credit
- From 60 to 64 is C4= Credit
- From 65 to 69 is B3= Good
- From 70 to 74 is B2= Very good
- From 75 to 100 is A1= Excellent.
